విండోస్ విస్టా కొత్త శకానికి నాంది వచ్చే ఏడాది వచ్చే విండోస్ విస్టాకు మొదట లాంగ్హార్న్ అని పేరు పెట్టాలనుకున్నారట. విడుదలకు ముందే కంప్యూటర్ రంగంలో విండోస్ విస్టా తీవ్ర సంచలనాలు సృష్టిస్తోంది. బహుశా దీని రాకతో ఐటీ రంగం తీరుతెన్నులు మొత్తంగా మారిపోయే అవకాశం ఉంది. విండోస్ విస్టా బీటా1 వెర్షన్పై పలువురు విశ్లేషకుల అభిప్రాయాలు..... మై క్రొసాఫ్ట్ సంస్థ వచ్చే సంవత్సరం కొత్త ఆపరేటింగ్ సిస్టంను విడుదల చేయబోతోంది. అప్పుడే ఈ ఆపరేటింగ్ సిస్టంపై అనేక ఊహాగానాలు జోరందుకుంటున్నాయి. కిందటి నెలలో మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ సంస్థ డెవలపర్లు, ఐటీప్రొఫెషనల్స్కోసం విండోస్ విస్టా బీటా1 వెర్షన్ను విడుదల చేసింది. ఈ వెర్షన్పై ఎవరికి తోచిన రీతిలో వారు స్పందిస్తున్నారు. వారి అభిప్రాయాలన్నింటినీ ఎప్పటికప్పుడు ఇంటర్నెట్లో ప్రజలకు అందుబాటులో ఉంచుతోంది మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ సంస్థ. నిజానికి ఆపరేటింగ్ సిస్టం విడుదల కావడానికి గడువు చాలానే ఉన్నా అప్పుడే ప్రజల్లో ఓ క్రేజ్ను సృష్టించడానికి మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ సంస్థ ప్రయత్నాలు సాగిస్తోంది. ఇన్స్టాల్ చేసుకోవడం తేలిక విండోస్ విస్టాను ఇన్స్టాల్ చేసుకోవడం తేలిక. అది కేవలం ప్రొడక్ట్ కీ, ఇన్స్టాల్ టైప్, కంప్యూటర్ నేమ్, పార్టీషన్ల గురించి మాత్రమే అడుగుతుంది. తక్కిన పనులన్నీ స్వతంత్రంగా చేసుకుంటుంది. ఇన్స్టాలేషన్ జరుగుతున్నప్పుడే కొత్త పార్టీషన్లు క్రియేట్ చేయడానికి, మోడిఫై చేయడానికి, డిలెట్ చేయడానికి ఆస్కారం ఉంటుంది. ఇన్స్టాలేషన్ స్క్రీన్స్ అన్నీ యూజర్ ఫ్రెండ్లీగా ఉంటాయి. ఇందులో ఐకాన్లు ఎక్స్పిలో ఉన్నవాటిలానే ఉంటాయి కానీ హై రిజల్యూషన్ కలిగి ఉంటాయి. కుడిచేతి చివర కింద ఉండే చిన్న బటన్ విండోస్ ఇండెక్స్ను చూపిస్తుంది. అలాగే ఇంతవరకు ఇంటర్నెట్ ఎక్స్ప్లోరర్లో మాత్రమే అందుబాటులో ఉన్న ఎమ్ఎస్ఎన్ సెర్చ్ ఆప్షన్ విస్టాతో నార్మల్ విండోస్లోనూ ఉపయోగపడ బోతోంది. స్టార్టప్ విండోస్ విస్టాలో స్టార్టమ్ మెనూ తీరు మారుతుంది. స్టార్ట్ బటన్ క్లిక్ చేయగానే మొదట చిన్న సెర్చ్బాక్స్ కనిపిస్తుంది. మీకు కావాల్సిన ప్రోగ్రామ్ ఏదో దానిలో టైప్ చేసి ఆ ప్రోగ్రాం ను ఓపెన్ చేసుకోవచ్చు. లేదంటే ఆల్ ప్రోగ్రాం ఆప్షన్ ఉపయోగించి అన్నింటిని చూడొచ్చు. అక్కడ క్లిక్ చేస్తే ఎక్స్ప్లోరర్ తెరుచుకుంటుంది. అలాగే 'మై' అని జతచేసి ఉండే అన్ని ఫోల్డర్లలో ఇందులో మై కనబడదు. అంటే మై కంప్యూటర్కు బదులు కంప్యూటర్, మై డాక్యుమెంట్స్కు బదులుగా డాక్యుమెంట్స్ అంతే. లాగ్ ఆఫ్, షట్డౌన్ బటన్లను కూడా మరింత ఇంప్రూవ్ చేశారు. దీనితో ఇదివరకు కంటే చాలా తొందరగా సిస్టం లాగ్ ఆన్/లాగ్ ఆఫ్ అయిపోతుంది. డైరెక్ట్ ఎక్స్ ఇంతవరకు మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ గ్రాఫిక్స్ కోసం జిడిఐ (గ్రాఫిక్స్ డివైస్ ఇంటర్ఫేస్)ను వాడుతూ వచ్చింది. దీంతో కొన్నిరకాల ప్రోగ్రామ్లు పనిచేయకపోతుండడంతో యూజర్లు డైరెక్ట్ ఎక్స్ను తిరిగి లోడ్ చేసుకోవాల్సి వచ్చేది. విండోస్ విస్టాతో పాటు డైరెక్ట్ ఎక్స్ను కూడా ఉచితంగా అందించబోతున్నారు. దీంతో హై-ఎండ్ గేమింగ్కి, ప్రోగ్రామర్లు హార్డ్వేర్ సపోర్ట్తో మరిన్ని ఎక్కువ ప్రోగ్రామ్లు తయారు చేసుకోవడానికి వీలు కలుగుతోంది. వర్చువల్ ఫోల్డర్లు వర్చువల్ ఫోల్డర్లు ప్రాథమికంగా ఎక్స్ఎమ్ఎల్ ఫైల్స్కోసం సృష్టించారు. ఇవి రెగ్యులర్ ఫోల్డర్లలాగే పనిచేస్తాయి. వీటిలో మీటా డేటా స్టోర్ అయివుంటుంది. కావాలనుకున్నప్పుడు కావాల్సిన ఫైల్ను సులువుగా అందిపుచ్చుకోవచ్చు. ఇంటర్నెట్ ఎక్స్ప్లోరర్ 7 విండోస్ విస్టాతో పాటు ఇంటర్నెట్ ఎక్స్ప్లోరర్ 7 డిఫాల్ట్గా లోడ్ అవుతుంది. దీనితో పాటు ఆర్ఎస్ఎస్ రీడర్, ప్రింటింగ్లో పనికి వచ్చే ష్రింక్ టు ఫిట్ ఆప్షన్లు ఉంటాయి. అలాగే విండోస్ విస్టా ఇమేజ్ ఫైల్స్ను ఇమేజ్లుగానే చూపిస్తుంది. వీడియో ఫైల్స్, మిగిలిన డాక్యుమెంట్లకు కూడా ఇది వర్తిస్తుంది. అందుకే దీనిలో ఐకాన్లన్నీ లైవ్లీగా ఉంటాయి. సెక్యూరిటీ విండోస్ విస్టాను రూపొందించడంలో రెండు అంశాలకు ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చినట్లు మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ సంస్థ తెలిపింది. మొదటిది మరింత ఎక్కువ క్లారిటీని అందించడం కాగా రెండోది సెక్యూరిటీ. అయితే ప్రయోగ దశలోనే ఒక వైరస్ సోకినట్లు తెలిసింది. అయితే వైరస్ సోకినట్లు మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ ఇంతవరకు ధ్రువీకరించలేదు. లోపాలు-లాభాలు విండోస్ విస్టాను డివిడిలలో మాత్రమే విడుదల చేయబోతున్నారు. దీంతో పైరసీకి అవకాశం తగ్గుతుంది. ఇది ఒక్కటే కాకుండా విండోస్ విస్టా డిమాండ్లు చాలానే ఉన్నాయి. కనీసం 512 ఎమ్బి రామ్ ఉండాలి. గ్రాఫిక్స్ కార్డ్ ఖచ్చితంగా డైరెక్ట్ ఎక్స్9ను సపోర్ట్ చేయగలిగి ఉండాలి. ఎమ్ఎస్ ఆఫీస్ను తెలుగులో కూడా నడుపుకునే వీలుంది. 64 బిట్ కలర్ను కూడా విండోస్ విస్టాతో మైక్రోసాఫ్ట్ పరిచయం చేయనుంది. విండోస్ విస్టా కనుక విజయవంతం అయితే ఇప్పుడు వాడుకలో ఉన్న సాధారణ కంప్యూటర్లన్నీ మూలపడే అవకాశం ఉంది. దీని ప్రభావం కంప్యూటర్లు వాడుతున్న అన్ని రంగాలపై పడుతుంది. టెక్నాలజీలో సరికొత్త శకానికి విండోస్ విస్టా నాంది పలుకబోతోందేమో వచ్చే సంవత్సరం వరకు వేచిచూడాలి. పంటి క్రింది రాయిలాపంటి క్రింది రాయిలా ఈ మధ్య ఈనాదు పేపర్లో దుకానము (దుఖానము?) బదులుగా చదివినప్పుడల్లా పంటి క్రింద రాయి తగిలినట్లు అనిపిస్తుంది। ఇంతకి ఏది కరక్టు? I got my net connectionOver all I am happy with BSNL July 04 In the process of getting a BSNL data one connection.Inspired by janakiram Saturday I applied for dataone. Still waiting for connection to get. 1. I went to our HCU exchange and asked about this, they directed me to Chanda Nagar. 2. I went to Chanda Nagar and went to customer service and filled a simple form with good help from the officer there. 3. Then I went to another cube on first floor and submitted the form, there are two more people like me. The officer here also very nice and helpful. (As a side note he is getting lot of phone calls from customers, may be they need to maintain complete customer care on phone not involving onsite officers toomuch) 4. Another side note: He has some problem with his 2 year old IBM laptop, it is going to blue screen and unable to boot. He has good command over system unlike other officers I have seen. He know safe mode and other things. But I helped him by restoring the system (which is running windows XP SP2 with all updates of microsoft and antivirus ) to a week behind. 5. He gave me phone number to call incase needed. 6. Within next two hours I got a call to home that they are ready with all the required changes to the lines and I can use my internet connection. I told them that I have also requested modem and I need to get it. They replied they will come ASAP. ********************************* Monday, To find the status I wish to call them. From bsnl faq I got a customer service number then they suggested me to call 23032588 then they suggested me to call 23032737 then they suggested me to call 23033939 then they suggested me to call 23021595 or 23021000 then they advised me to call after three O clock. But immediately the happyness disappeared as heavy pain started at ankel.
Still it is continuing.
